Babo Nero d’Avola (Italy)
The wine is still quite deep and brooding but has a nice agile mouthfeel, almost Pinot-like. As with the white L’Isolano, shows the food-friendly ‘agrodolce’ character (sweet and savoury). Following a fairly short maceration and ferment the wine is raised for 12 months in 2000-litre French oak botti.
