Pemberley Chardonnay
This is packed with flavour but is still light on its feet. The acidity on the palate reins in the bounding fruit and tightens it up through the mid palate through to the finish. The toasty oak and spice characters are in concert with the rich fruit and all of these components build together, peaking on the mid palate in a harmonious way. A creaminess and crushed nut flavour enter at this point, bringing with them the feeling that things are very good in the world. These flavours intermingle and taper out over the long finish. This wine will continue to grow and evolve over time. If you like the primary fruit personality of this wine, drink within the next five years, however if spice and richness are what you chase, then put it away and don’t look at it until 2025 or later. The acidity and balance say it will easily live that long.
