Veuve Clicquot Vintage Champagne
Champagne | Champagne, France
The Vintage by Veuve is a typically generous and full-bodied style of Champagne with toastiness and notes of brioche.
In 1810, Madame Clicquot invented the first Vintage Champagne. With grapes exclusively from Grands and Premiers Crus, Pinot Noir dominates the blend (51%) and provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, followed by Chardonnay (34%) that adds finesse and elegance essential in a perfectly balanced wine, and then Meunier (15%) that rounds out the blend.
Beautiful, yellow-golden hues, rich and fine foam. Nose: powerful and nice nose, fruity at first (white fruits, nuts), then vanilla-inflected and eventually scented sweet bread, ideal balance between the aromas of the varieties of grapes (fruit) and the aromas of aging in bottle (pastries). Mouth: frank and dynamic attack, fruity harmony, with some structure, structured and vinous, remarkable aromatic persistence with fruity notes and spicy at the same time.
