“A decade after it was planted in response to the threat of declining access to irrigated water in the region, Nero d’Avola is undoubtedly a coup for Ricca Terra. I love this wine for its see-saw of fruit and savoury spice, the pepperiness littered through the cherry, plum and blackberry spill of fruit. It’s gently herbal, and the natural acidity refreshes the palate of its richness.
