Patritti JPB Shiraz
Shiraz | Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia
Named after the founder Giovanni (John) Patritti, one of the earliest Italians to settle in Australia in 1925. The label design is reminiscent of the earliest Patritti labels and features the original JPB logo. Trading as ‘John Patritti Brighton’ referring to the greater region of Adelaide where the winery is located, the demand for his wines steadily grew. Today, the original JPB branding iron is still used to stamp barrels and grandson, James Mungall makes the wines that are enjoyed around the world.”
The colour is a deep almost black ruby red showing a slither of violet-purple on the hue. Aromatically the wine is complex and concentrated with plum, blue fruits and raspberries, complexed by struck rock, graphite and toasty oak. The full-bodied palate is driven and powerful; with even structure and long tannin line, oak is integrated with the blue and red fruits. Whilst enjoyable now this wine will cellar beautifully over the decades to come.
