It’s the trade term for the colour of the finest rubies, invariably from the Mogok Stone Tract in Myanmar. The precious grapes for this wine come from distant lands far to the south-east: The elevated vineyards of South Australia’s Adelaide Hills.

Silky yet tart expression of pinot noir. Zesty red berry compote, watermelon granita, a tomato leaf element and some sappy tannins doing their thing. An edgy pinot noir of skittish nature but pleasant nonetheless. A savoury, wooded herb flavour lingers nicely. It’s easy to let the mind wander with such wines.
