Galacian pirate Benito De Soto was the notorious captain of the Burla Negra, the last of the great ships to plunder the Atlantic. Many a sailor’s heart sank in fear at the sight of her dark sails. The inspiration for this wine was fleeced through voyage and vintage in the far vineyards of Benito’s Galacian homeland.

“I was lucky enough to complete a Vintage in Spain after I finished up at Rockford Wines and instantly fell in love with this amazing variety. It’s super unique and there’s nothing really like it.
This wine is testament to the quality of the 5½ acre vineyard here on our property which is one of the oldest Tempranillo blocks in the Barossa. It’s not for the faint hearted but oozes class.”
