Izway Angelo Aglianico
The wine is named after Craigโs great mate, and the concreter to the stars, Angelo Bertin. After Angelo and his team did such an outstanding job on our winery and cellar door construction, we thought it only fitting to name a wine after him made from an Italian grape variety!
The Angelo sticks true to the Aglianico varietal characteristics, and will have a far superior longevity to previous years. With each vintage we are seeing more similarities to its Italian counterpart.
A slightly reductive initial nose of gruyere and blue cheese, disrobes with air to reveal pretty, floral aromatics. Lavender and tar and dark violet crumble, combine with licks of liquorice and cardamom.
Powerful, robust, dry, powdery tannin, juicy and fresh mid pallet. Fine, linear profile with a gutsy finish.
