Barrecas Preservative Free Malbec

This single vineyard, wild ferment Malbec from Donnybrook in the heart of the Geographe region is a vibrant, deep, purple-black, almost impenetrable wine. Serious looking juice!!

Bouquet is all uber ripe red fleshed plum, chocolate milk and banksia scrubland, it’s high summer in a glass.

Full bodied palate, dripping with morello cherry, choc milk and Bravo apple with a lively acid spine. Length of flavour is formidable, especially given this is purely tank ferment with no oak influence. This will tick the box of many drinkers, big structured mouthful of a wine that will appease the average Cab/Shiraz drinker and juicy enough to handle a slight chill for those that like a little delicacy and buoyant fruit.

Rather deft winemaking here, especially given the lack of oak treatment and preservatives. Will easily cellar for 4-6 years, but one would have to ask why? Just chill & thrill, best served at 12-14c.
