The Bruce contains fruit from the Slade vineyard, located in the hills behind the township of Greenock. The boney, tough red soils produce tiny bunches and berries and creates wine that is highly structured, fine and elegant. The combination of this profile with the dark, rich and concentrated fruit of Koonunga Hill produced a wine of great power and structure.
The bright, pretty aromatics are defined by dark liquorice, cherry, fine perfume and musk. It is strongly fragrant and classic Northern Barossa Shiraz. The palate is juicy and slightly dusty with roasted hazelnuts, anise, cinnamon and bright fresh acidity.
This Bruce is definitely one for the cellar, although decanting will reward the impatient.
