First Drop The Cream Shiraz 2019

The colour of black cherries. Beautifully spiced and fragrant, mostly black fruit but lifted by some dark-red characteristics like mulberry. Smells exotically rich. On the palate, deep-pile, abundant but smooth tannins. This has a plush exterior but is turbo-charged under the bonnet, and yet all still remarkably well in balance. A dark, almost leathery finish. The complete opposite of many of today’s light, fresh reds but none the worse for that this is definitely a wine of place and vintage.
