Glenfarclas is one of Scotland’s most celebrated distilleries and is fiercely independent. That’s what comes of being founded in 1836 and remaining a family-run business to this day. They boast an enviable collection of old Scotch spread across their 30 warehouses and tend to steer clear of exotic wood maturation. This makes them a go-to for those who like their Scotch to be made in a smooth, heavily sherried style and have a nice bit of age on it.

Glenfarclas 185th Anniversary Single Malt Scotch Whisky marks 185 years since the producer began legally distilling in 1836. Apparently, there’s still some illicit whisky predating that year kicking around in their warehouses, but keep that under your hat. Matured in predominantly Spanish Sherry casks that span, the team have selected 35 outstanding casks spanning six decades and married them together to create this sensational Glenfarclas.

Expect a rich and full-bodied spirit brimming with notes of dried fruit, marmalade, Christmas cake, hot cross bun spices, śliwka naleczowska (those delicious Polish chocolate-coated candied prunes), freshly roasted coffee, damson crumble, cherry liqueur chocolates, toffee and polished antique mahogany.
