Working in collaboration with Corsair Distillery, from Nashville, Tennessee, 78 Degrees have sought to create something truly unique. Taking local, single paddock unmalted barley and smoking it with Australian redgum, imparting notes of hazelnut praline and eucalypt.
Corsair then took the same barley, smoking it with American cherrywood, before adding in a portion of Scottish peated malt.
NOSE
Hazelnut praline. The smell of winter ‘burn-off’, with a faint eucalypt note.
TASTE
Quite sweet, with a note that is reminiscent of mulch, or sweet hay. Extinguished campfire gives way to a briny finish.
