“This unaged, silver expression kicks off with a nose of intense black and red pepper, pungent agave, and some lemon notes. There’s a sharp, saline-like edge to it, positively screaming for use in a margarita. The palate initial hits the tongue with similar notes, pulling no punches with its peppery, herbal profile. The attack is sharp and impactful, though eventually some moderated sweetness emerges, settling down to showcase some fruity notes that tend toward a melon character. The finish pushes things in a different direction, finding a touch of bittersweet chocolate to temper the spice up front. The overall impact is one that’s impressive, refreshing, and invigorating.
