This was named for Jim Beam’s historic Master Distiller, Basil Hayden Sr who, in 1796, created a bourbon with a mashbill whose base was of corn, with a mix of small grains for added spice.

Spicy yet smooth, both rich and sweet.

Artfully aged in Kentucky hillside rickhouses then bottled at a smooth 80 proof (40% ABV), Basil Haydens Bourbon is aged 8 years (although the age statement seems to have been removed). Basil Hayden’s sophisticated taste remains true to the old family recipe with more rye than traditional Kentucky bourbons, producing an extremely smooth and rich style of Bourbon.
