Chateau Desmirail Margaux 2015 750ml (Bordeaux, France)
Description
This third growth estate was founded in 1661 by Jean Desmirail, who obtained the vineyard as many people did in that day, as a dowry through marriage to one of the many daughters from the Rauzan family. The vineyard is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot planted on deep gravel, clay and sandy soils. Look for notes of dark cherry, licorice, rose petals and minerals.
The 2015 Desmirail has a very pure and refined bouquet that is one of the most impressive that we have encountered in recent years. The palate is very ripe and refined with a fine line of acidity, fresh in the mouth with appealing tension, building gently with just enough tension on the finish to keep you anticipating the next sip. This constitutes one of the best wines from the estate in recent years. Anticipated maturity: 2021 – 2038.
