First Drop ‘Mothers Milk’ Shiraz (Barossa, SA)
Mother’s Milk is matured for 15 months in 95% older French oak hogsheads and 5% new American oak barriques. Opaque inky black in colour with a very deep, dark crimson red hue. The nose reveals scents of liquorice, blackberry and confectionery along with some black-pepper finishing notes. Full bodied, the palate possesses various flavours of liquorice, blackberry, vanillin confectionery and spice. With fine grained almost velvet like tannins, the aftertaste is of liquorice, confectionery and spice. Will cellar nicely for 4-5 years.
