Freehand (Preservative Free) Shiraz (Great Southern, WA)
Freehand Shiraz is a dry, red table wine, barrel aged for 20 months in a mix of French and American oak barriques and hogsheads. Grapes were hand harvested, de-stemmed and transferred to wax lined concrete vats for the majority of fermentation. The skins were hand plunged during fermentation, then the skins and juice were gently basket pressed before barrelling, with lees stirring and malo-lactic fermentation. Wine was bottled without fining or filtration.
There is lush boysenberry, cherry and plum flavours, with cedar and vanillin oak and subtle pepper and spicy notes.
